1. What did you do in the World of Warcraft in 2009 that you’d never done before?

I cut down my hours heavily and stopped raiding.  Sure I miss it but I know that thanks to Blizz I can pug it often enough for it not to matter  Taking a step back has allowed me to do all kinds of things (including this blog) and I feel better for it, I don’t know if I’ll ever get into an MMO like I was into WoW but we’ll see.

2. What was your favourite new place that you visited?

I really enjoyed seeing all of the raid content, Ulduar and TOC even if it was only 10 man and I still need to kill General Vezax!  These instances I feel are moving more towards the casual gamer.  There is so little trash nowadays or perhaps it just feels like it in comparison to 4 years ago when I stepped into MC with big wide open eyes.

3. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?

A legendary.  I’d like to work towards 1 or 2 even if they’re redundant now for rogues.  It just seems like a fantastic item to have, Thunderfury, the Glaives, even the bow from Sunwell.

4. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Loremaster.  Going back and researching all those quests was brilliant.  Also levelling alts, I’m strictly a 1 character kind of guy I’ve played Ashankt for 5 years nearly and I still love it.  The instant attacks and combo point system are just suited to my spam buttons style perfectly.

5. What was your biggest failure?

I pulled a couple of all nighters on WoW.  Though not a failure to some it was to me, I let the game get in the way of my real life schedule.  This is not cool and I don’t intend to do it again for quite some time.  Staying up till 2 at a weekend is fine but all night, geez no thanks.

6. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Achievements, more please!  Although not a 2009 thing I’ve done the majority of mine over this last year.  They’re massive but well worth it.  I love the small accomplishments you get along the way – just brilliant.

7. What do you wish you’d done less of?

Dailies – definately a bore, but a neccesary evil for most, until I figured out the AH that is.  Now I rarely do them unless they have side effects like badges, honour or rep etc.

8. What was your favorite WoW blog or podcast?

I really enjoy the WoW Insider podcast.  I listen every week and am dissapointed that Turpster and Schram are leaving it but hey ho such is life.  They used to be on WCRadio which has other excellent shows too.

9. Tell us a valuable WoW lesson you learned in 2009.

I put myself in with a group of friends from TBC again and we’ve become a pretty tight nit bunch, because they’re all very close to me we play poker in real life as well and do other bits and bobs, there’s more to life than WoW.
