I raid mostly 10 man raids, I’m a competent raider who uses his brain and to some extent can compensate a little for others DPS. I’ve played my class since just after release.
Never before have I farmed so many badges so quickly as I did the last 2 days. In total I needed 150 triumph badges and managed it after rolling and getting 2 x Trophy of the Crusade from a ToC 25 man PUG. It actually started off very slowly as I was queuing solo, then our new Paladin tank decided he also needed badges and boom instant groups.
So what did I learn from so much pugging? People love their alts! Very rarely did I come across mains (or at least I hope I didn’t when most of you were putting out 2-3k DPS). Really, I’ve never been a big fan of alts, I enjoy levelling them and making money from their professions but that’s it really. If there’s even 1 bit of loot I need in an instance you can bet your ass I’ll take a main there over an alt.
So far on the EJ Incoming Rogue Changes thread people are showing 1-2% decrease with combat and 6-8% for mutilate. It’s an interesting change but really wont effect people too much.
Had a quick chat with a fellow rogue on Bloodhoof this morning and we both surmised that even with the nerfs we still think Rogues will be on top, but this should mean there’s not a glaringly obvious gap between rogues and everyone else in the future.

The FAQ has been posted here and was originally compiled on the EU forums by Kyphosis, it’s rather in-depth but it’s all hyper-linked up for ease of use. Enjoy!
Spurred on by Arrens’ recent post I decided it would be helpful with all things WoW to create a to-do list but on a larger scale. 6 large items before Cataclysm sounds a good idea to me!
This is currently the title I’m working on – it’s hard going but I’m already getting through the rep and nearly on neutral again with the Cartel, from here it shouldn’t be too bad going.
Still not dipped into my funds to get 1, so this is 1 resolution I need to keep! Luckily all those Dire Maul runs have given me plenty of cash!
3. Try and post on topics you’ve created
Every time I have an idea for a post I write it down – this usually happens once a day and I have an interactive desktop using Rainmeter that I write my notes down.
4. Get those alts to 80!
Most of my alts have maxed profs for gold but they’re sitting at lower levels, I need to get the Warrior then the DK and finally the Shaman to 80 (after Faction xfer) before I start playing the Paladin again – this way they’ll be ready for Cata.
5. Spend more time raiding
I haven’t done much raiding recently and went into ICC-10 for the first time last night (minus a pug on the first boss), whipped the damage meters into shape and found myself co-ordinating.
6. Do Officer related duties
I’m an Officer in Alpha and Omega on Bloodhoof-EU and haven’t done much to prove it, so I volunteered to take the combat logs (will help with my need to raid, read 5) and also do a bit of DKP if we go into 25 man territory. I expect the Officer duties will lead to many a fun post on here and I already have 1 bit of trouble that I dealt with last night.
The game in WotLK focused more on lore than TBC from previously created games and things were all very familiar for those of us who’d been in Northrend in Warcraft 3. The game became more accessible to the point where every tier of content can currently be pugged (if you’re not with complete under geared morons). Achievements were introduced and we’ve had an honest focus towards the UI element of WoW. As well as all this we had our first Hero Class, the Death Knight.
Let’s take a look at what’s coming in Cataclysm… Read more… »
If you’re havin’ loot problems i feel bad for you son
I got 99 problems but emblems ain’t one
[Verse One]

Rap mags try and use my troll ass
So gold sellers can give ‘em more cash for ads, morons
I don’t know what you take me as,
Or understand the intelligence that Ashankt has
I’m from greys to epics playas I ain’t dumb

[Verse Two]
The year’s ‘04 and the MMO is raw
In my gaming mirror is a title about oldschool war
I got two choices y’all pull out the cash for a sub or (hmmm)
Bounce on the FPS just to raise my bad score
Now I ain’t tryin’ to see no twich gaming with Ash.
Plus i got a few dollars i can fight the cash
So I…go and head inside the game sto
I heard “Son have you heard of this new MMO?”
I wouldn’t cause I’m young and I’ve never played one befo?
Do I look like a mind reader sir, I don’t know
Should I buy it now or should I guess some mo’?
“Well this aint your average game boy let me tell you now”
“It aint for casuals yet of that you can be sure”
“Are you carryin’ a credit card on you I know a lot of you are”
I ain’t got a card on me all my note’s legit
“Well, do you mind if I put in a bag you little twit?”
Well if you really want to but I was gonna put it in trunk in the back
But what the hell you can put your logo over that
“Aren’t you sharp as a tack, you some type of blogger or somethin’”
“Or somebody important or somethin’?”
Nah, I ain’t installed the script but i know a little bit
Enough that you won’t illegally google my shit
“We’ll see how smart you are when the expansion come”
I got 99 problems but emblems ain’t one
Hit me
[Chorus]
99 Problems but emblems ain’t one
if you havin loot problems

99 Problems but emblems ain’t one
if you havin loot problems
i feel bad for you son
I got 99 problems but emblems ain’t one
hit me
[Verse Three]
Now once upon a time not too long ago
A troll like myself had to strong arm a warrio
This is not a tank in the sense of havin bad threat below me
But a tank havin no God Damn sense, try and outDPS me
I tried to ignore him and talk to the Lord
Pray for him, cause some fools just can’t out-perform
You know the type loud as a hog bike
But wouldn’t bust a gnome in a BG fight
The only thing that’s gonna happen is I’ma get to slappin
He and his healer gon be yappin to the GM
And there I go trapped in the drama again
Back through the forums with the riff raff again
Fiends in my guild laughin again
Wow Insider with they columns writin up them
X-Realm tried to get this troll shaft again
Needing on orbs cos I’m from Bloodhoof again
All because this fool was harrasin’ them
Tryin to play the boy like hes saccarin
But ain’t nothin sweet ’bout how I hold my weapon
I got 99 problems beating your rolls ain’t one.
Hit me
Currently just released my new Plugin for Wordpress emulates mmo-champion so that you can post up blue posts. It’s all based off a CSS file and works pretty nifty – for example:
Quote from Blizzard member of Staff
Nerf Rogues
Rogues will be nerfed, stealth will be removed, screw you guys I’m going home. (source)
You can get the full plugin by clicking the above link or here. There’s instructions on the page
Messing around with CSS atm – so pay no attention to the above
It’s best to use whatever tools you can get your hands on. For example you should always use a spreadsheet such as Aldrianas which can be found at the Rogue section of Elitist Jerks. But if you prefer in game advice try out the mod Pawn.
The thing to remember with Pawn is that it can’t work out set bonuses or trinket procs – for this information check out Elitist Jerks Pocket Guide to 3.3.
But I have some import goodness for you below for both Combat and Mutilate based off of Aldriana’s spreadsheet (I admit I haven’t added speed yet but maybe I’ll update soon):
I wrote the below essay in the summer of 2009 for my degree. It was perhaps the easiest piece of the year for me having studied the sources intimately before even beginning. The Essay does have my real life name and my college name on it but to be honest I trust you all (haha).
Ashankt was my first character and has remained my main for over 5 years and 200 days /played. He was there at the opening of AQ, he was world 10th to down Kazzak (v2 in TBC) and he's been having -lots- of fun.
